5K Training

Here is my thought process behind this page: If I post about it, maybe (hopefully; Oh.God.Please) I’ll stay accountable for it.  I’ll update it with my training and what I’ve accomplished.

Thursday, March 10th: Couch to 5K (Week 1, Day 2) – CHECK!
Saturday, March 12th: Couch to 5K (Week 1, Day 3) – CHECK!

Tuesday, March 15th: Couch to 5K (Week 2, Day 1) – CHECK!
Wednesday, March 16th: Couch to 5K (Week 2, Day 2) – CHECK!
Friday, March 18th: Couch to 5K (Week 2, Day 3) – CHECK!

Sunday, March 20th: Couch to 5K (Week 3, Day 1) – CHECK!
Wednesday, March 23rd: Couch to 5K (Week 3, Day 2) – CHECK!
Thursday, March 24th: Couch to 5K (Week 3, Day 3) – CHECK!

Tuesday, March 29th: Couch to 5K (Week 4, Day 1) – CHECK!
Thursday, March 31st: Couchh to 5K (Week 4, Day 2) – CHECK!
Sunday, April 3rd: Couch to 5K (Week 4, Day 3) – CHECK! (Kinda…)

Monday, April 4th: Couch to 5K (Week 5, Day 1) – CHECK!
Friday, April 8th: Couch to 5K (Week 5, Day 2) – CHECK!
Sunday, April 10th: Couch to 5K (Week 5, Day 3) – CHECK!

Tuesday, April 12th: Couch to 5K (Week 6, Day 1) – CHECK!
Thursday, April 14th: Couch to 5K (Week 6, Day 2) – CHECK!
Sunday, April 17th: Couch to 5K (Week 6, Day 3) – CHECK!

Wednesday, April 20th: Couch to 5K (Week 7, Day 1) – CHECK!
Thursday, April 21st: Couch to 5K (Week 7, Day 2) – CHECK!
Saturday, April 22nd: Couch to 5K (Week 7, Day 3) – Miss… sad.  But I’m trekkin ahead..

Wednesday, April 25th: Couch to 5K (Week 8, Day 1) – CHECK! (Kinda.. this one was a little discouraging to be honest)
Friday, April 27th: Couch to 5K (Week 8, Day 2) – CHECK!
Saturday, April 29th: Couch to 5K (Week 8, Day 3) – CHECK! (WOO HOO!)

Monday, May 2nd: Couch to 5K (Week 9, Day 1) – CHECK! (Kinda.. had to walk a few minutes in between but pulled through)
Thursday, May 5th: Couch to 5K (Week 9, Day 2) – I ran the actual route of my 5K for next week.  With some walking, I completed the 3.1 mile course in approximately 34 minutes.  I AM PUMPED.
Sunday, May 8th: Couch to 5K (Week 9, Day 3!!!!!!!) – CHECK!!!! 3 miles in 32:20.  Felt amazing and now I know I can do it!!

  1. I’ve been itching to try this, too, but never can seem to stick with it past Week 1. Keep up the good work. I just came across your site, but a standby recipe I’ve liked is Ellie Krieger’s White Chili, if you haven’t tried it already. I think it’s killer. Have a nice day!
